Standard

TA series NFPA cylinders have a self alignment feature, which is a rod bushing designed to float 0.002″, improving bearing surface alignment.  This provides a minimum of 25% longer life than “fixed” rod bushing design.  It also reduces breakaway and running friction, which improves overall actuation responsiveness.  Cylinders can be customized to fit any application.

Heavy Duty Steel

Tough Duty

TD cylinders feature bumper piston seals, reducing machine vibration and allowing higher velocities to be achieved while reducing noise.  Standard fixed cushions provide tamper free operation and guarantee cushion function at the end of each full stroke.  A PTFE piston wear band providing low friction and long life operation in demanding applications is also standard.

Flush Mount

FM series cylinders are one of the most versatile cylinders on the market.  They feature (4) tapped holes at each end and flush sleeve nut construction at head end.  FM series mounting kits convert the basic cylinder to rear pivot or flange mount, so they can be used in different applications by simply changing the mount.

Back to Back

You can mix and match any series of cylinder together to create a “back to back” design.  They must have the same bore size, and will be built as one unit that utilizes common tie-rods. Mounts include a full range of base, tie-rod, and head or cap trunnions for pivot mounting, or multiple mounts.  Back to back cylinders provide positive “hard” stop positioning.

  • Combine any two series together for limitless design possibilities
  • Different stroke lengths can be provided for endless stroke position possibilities

3-Position

You can create a 3-Position cylinder from any single stage series of cylinder (Note: not available on multi-stage products).  3-Position cylinders simplify machine designs by eliminating the need for an additional cylinder to create a third position.  They reduce space and the cost to mount multiple cylinders.

Position Feedback Low Friction

TRD’s Position Feedback Low Friction (PFLF) cylinders are ideal for applications where the cylinder can touch down on a part and provide position feedback, thus gauge a part.  They can also be used in conjunction with a PCS (Position Control System) for closed-loop positioning.  The tie-rod design meets all NFPA standards.

Air/Oil Tandem

Tandem cylinders can achieve constant velocities, even in slow speed applications, where air cylinders typically struggle to provide consistent velocity.  This is accomplished by metering the flow of the oil cylinder.  Since one cylinder is oil filled, you can control loads from a run away condition or absorb shock loads.

Triple Rod

TRA series triple rod cylinders are built for heavy duty applications, and have heavy duty rod bearings that maximize load handling abilities.  The triple piston rod is designed to provide a non-rotating feature and a tool plate for ease of use.  Double rod end models with three rods and two tooling plates and double rod end with single rods and one tooling plate are available.

Multi-Stage

Multi-stage cylinders can provide the same output force as larger bore, single stage cylinders while being lower cost.  Higher forces can be achieved in tight spaces versus larger bore cylinders which require more center to center space when more than one cylinder is required. Stainless steel models are available for wash down or corrosive environments.

Stainless Steel

TRD’s NFPA heavy duty stainless steel cylinder is ideal for applications subjected to chemicals and corrosive environments.  Options include an FDA approved lubricant and solid Delrin® rod bushing, which is also FDA approved.  The solid stainless steel piston provides maximum corrosion resistance.

Telescoping

TRD’s 2-stage telescoping cylinders feature standard NFPA aluminum body construction, with a solid aluminum piston with bumper piston seals and a PTFE wear band.  The wear bands provide additional bearing support on the tube.  These cylinders are designed to support the unit’s weight only, and are not intended for “side load” applications.
